The comprehensive Digital Communications career cluster prepares students for careers in Cinematic Arts and Video Production.
Program Overview:
- Curriculum Focus: Students will build and grow their camera operation and video editing/production skills through a variety of projects. Students will learn how to operate the equipment in the production studio, the auditorium, and the sports gyms and stadium. Students are also expected to compete in TSA CTSO events and take the Adobe Certified Professional exam for Adobe Premiere Pro.

With the skills and potential certifications gained from the program, graduates may pursue entry-level positions such as:
- Video Technician: Oversees video production for live productions. They may operate video production equipment, and they often work under the supervision of a technical director
- Assistant Camera Operator: Handles the technical and practical execution of a director's vision. They often clean, maintain and set up various production equipment. Assistant camera operators prepare, set up and position equipment like cameras, lighting and rigs
- Production Assistant: Assists in all aspects of a production. They handle a variety of details in a production, and they may work in any aspect of a production. A set PA may oversee order on the set, ensure actors and extras go where they need to and distribute messages and paperwork
- Assistant Editor: Works closely with the film editor, supporting the editor's efforts through creative, practical and administrative duties. They may prepare and organize footage for the editor to review, arrange the editor's workspace and handle communications and paperwork from the staff and crew
- Broadcast Technician: Work with equipment for broadcast radio and television. They set up and operate equipment related to signal strength and clarity. Broadcast technicians ensure broadcasts occur without errors
