Brewer High School students in the Education and Training program get hands-on experience in WSISD classrooms by assisting teachers and gaining practical skills in lesson planning, classroom management and student support.
Students in the program can earn a Teaching Assistant certification and immediately enter the workforce upon high school graduation.

Brewer High School students in the Sports Medicine program learn skills that prepare them for careers in sports medicine and wellness and the healthcare profession.
Teacher Madison McBride said, “We focus on patient care, bedside manner and general healthcare needs so students have a good foundation no matter which healthcare field they choose to pursue.”
Student Emilio Woods said he learned first aid, CPR, AED use, and clinical skills like wound treatment.
Students in the Exercise, Science and Wellness program of study can serve as athletic trainers and get hands-on experience during games and practices.
Sara Summerville said, “We look out for the player’s safety, always watching injured players to ensure they're staying healthy and safe during the game and watching for any new injuries so we know how it happened and how to respond.”
Students can also take Health Science classes and earn the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or the Personal Trainer certification through the Exercise, Science and Wellness program of study.

Brewer High School students practice sutures in their Health Science Practicum class. Students in the Health Science program of study can earn the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and enter the workforce as medical assistants.
Health Science prepares students for careers in the healthcare industry by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience necessary for success in a wide range of health-related professions. Students explore various pathways such as nursing, emergency medical services, pharmacy, dentistry and more.
Teacher Melissa Galloway received a grant from the White Settlement ISD Education Foundation to purchase the suture practice class sets, which include simulated limbs with soft vinyl skin over stitchable foam for a life-like suturing experience.
Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy students celebrated Mother's Day with more than 300 unsheltered women.
Students in the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy teamed up with Under the Bridge Ministries and sponsored meals for over 300 unsheltered women for Mother's Day. The students also collected donations of clothes and shoes, made over 250-plus snack bags, and gave each woman a carnation.
Chick-fil-A White Settlement funds the Leader Academy curriculum and program so BHS students have the opportunity to participate in the academy.
